Hidden in the Northwest province only 1,5 hours drive from JHB or Pretoria and 30 minutes from Rustenburg, 1 hour from Potchefstroom. We offer you 3700ha of pristine hunting grounds, with 8 exclusive bow blinds & separate rifle hunting areas, with species that range from impala to eland in large herds. There is dangerous game like rhino, buffalo and hippo too. 20 big dams with trout, bass, carp, tilapia and the Selons river running through, make Iwamanzi Wilderness Reserve a paradise for everybody. The birdlife is prolific with recordings of more than 220 bird species.
The reserve is home to 3 of the big five animals, tons of other game and is an accredited birdlife destination. As one of the largest private game reserves, we offer great bush walks, mountain biking trips, fishing in our many dams and excellent game drives. The stories told around the campfire or the dinner table made Iwamanzi a boomerang-destination for many local and international friends. The historical sites at the reserve excite many local visitors, places such as the post office facade of 1911, one of the first Voortrekker’s schools, Boer-war battlefield sites and historical dwellings and graveyards of different cultures.

Insurance
Iwamanzi Game Lodge has comprehensive liability, third party and personal guest insurance in place to offer you peace of mind.
Our vehicles, accommodation and equipment are serviced and maintained on a continuous basis to ensure a safe environment during your Safari. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the client’s safety, no liability or responsibility will be accepted for any illness, injury, accident or loss whatsoever, or for any expenses arising from such illness, accident or loss.
Guests will be expected to sign an indemnity form before commencement of the safaris and are reminded that personal and medical insurance should be arranged through their own Brokers for specific risks, medical emergency or items of value that could be damaged / lost due to unforeseen circumstances.
More than 2 hunters can rotate during the hunting hours. Our professional hunter and tracker can advise on the amount of spectators joining per vehicle, if it obstructs the quality of hunting. Our guides will assist with trophy judgment to make sure you shoot the animal you are after, if you request them to do so.
The final decision to shoot at an animal rests with the hunter. Guides/trackers are not responsible for any mistakes. Therefore make sure before you shoot.
Animals, which are wounded and/or lost, are also charged. If any blood or sign show the animal was wounded – FULL payment is due. The guide or trackers judgment is final as to whether an animal is wounded or not.
A hunter who wounds an animal would be required to stop hunting immediately and attempt to track/find the wounded animal before he can continue with his hunt. If not found, normal hunting could be resumed if no more blood or spoor can be found. Should wounded animals be found by our own rangers and/or trackers they could be killed in the absence of the hunter and the hunter will be informed.
As a general rule morning hunting sessions will commence at first light until brunch time. The afternoon sessions will commence around 14h00 and stop before last light. Hunting at dusk is not allowed due to the chance of wounding and no day light is left to recover the animal. Set hunting times are in your interest as it is essential for our trackers to recover game from the veld, to skin the animals and get the carcasses in the cool room as soon as possible
As the Trackers are required to render a full day’s work, it is requested that you refrain from handing them any alcohol at any time.
All breakages will be recovered from the person/ group responsible.
ETHICS AND STANDARDS
The items that we list here could help to make your safari experience valuable; these are normal day-to-day principles that we all practice and know of and we believe that the following principles will ensure that the safari is unforgettable for you the hunter and our guest:
1 Abide by wildlife laws and the laws of nature. Act ethically at all times.
2 Hunting safaris present opportunities for good and bad behavior. Act wisely.
3 Know your own abilities and understand the natural system you hunt in.
4 Remember two principles that determine hunting attitudes:
Hunting is not a spectator sport; yet there are many watchers. They include your hunting partners, friends, children, the trackers, the landlord and non-hunters. Never offend these ‘watchers’.
Hunting is a personal sport. We each face a personal challenge and we hunt to achieve personal reward. Poor behavior is rejected.
5 Arrive prepared for the safari in terms of clothing (NO BRIGHT COLOURS), equipment, rifles, camera, etc.
6 Know your rifles and make sure that you spend time to practice and to zero them at a local shooting range before
your arrival,
7 It is a requirement that you zero/test your rifles on our own range before you proceed on the hunt.
You will be required to put 3 shots into a 100mm square at 100m.
8 Take a shot when you are confident. If you miss 3 times in a row, you will be taken to the shooting range to practice or to sort out your gun or yourself.
9 Never underestimate the value of natural rests such as trees, fence posts or boulders and shooting sticks.
10 Make constructive use of our PH and Tracker’s knowledge of spoor and of the reserve. The area is extended and you will need them.
11 Always have firearm safety in mind when handling your rifle. Respect your rifle. Make your weapons safe before entering the camp or getting into a vehicle.
12 No alcoholic drinks allowed in the bush or before hunting commences.
13 No hunting at water holes or hides with firearms.
14 No hunting from vehicles unless arrangements have been made with owner or representative
15 No vehicle or hunter may leave the camp area unless accompanied by a guide and or tracker.
16 No calibers smaller than .270 or 7mm allowed unless otherwise arranged with owner or representative.
17 No hunting or shooting of birds or predators without permission of the owner or his representative.
18 No shooting with air guns or pallet guns at anything, by your children, except at the shooting range. Please control your children.
19 Any hunter who breaks any of the rules or who continues to act in an unethical or socially unacceptable fashion after being requested not to do so will be removed from the property and no money’s will be refunded.
20 Right of admission is reserved.
21 Guides will be supplied by the owner.
22 Guides are encouraged to report any incidents of bribery and animals hunted or wounded where an attempt at bribery is involved will be charged at double the going rate and the guide will be allowed to keep the bribe or present as his reward for reporting it to the owner. Your reputation is one of the most valuable things you acquire.
