Alpetra Nature Reserve is a 4000-hectare hunting destination/experience in the Waterberg district of Limpopo. With mountains, gorges, streams, and plains, we are perfect for the hunter who enjoys walking, stalking, or waiting in position. FARM DESCRIPTION:
We have two lodges, located 8 km apart.
- The main lodge can accommodate up to 20 hunters at a time, with a maximum of two people per room sharing a bathroom.
- Rooms include air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, fireplaces, and self-catering kitchens.
- There are 5 units in total.
- Buffelsfontein Lodge is a larger lodge and can accommodate up to 12 hunters at a time.
The farm is divided into four camps:
- 2 x 500-hectare Buffalo breeding camps: Also home to common game available for hunting, including Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, etc.
- 2,000-hectare hunting camp: The main hunting area with a variety of game species available.
- 1,000-hectare hunting and buffalo camp: This is where buffalo bulls are released for hunting, along with other species. Also includes buffalo cows, weaker bulls, hard boss bulls, and trophy bulls available for hunting.
Facilities & Additional Hunting Services:
- 4 fully equipped hunting vehicles
- 3 qualified professional hunters
- Additional hunting options available upon request: Crocodile, Hippo, Rhino, Tsessebe, and Reedbuck
- Trophy hunting for the domestic market
ACCOMMODATION & PRICING:
Self-Catering:
- Hunter (Self-Catering): R850 per night
- Non-Hunter (Self-Catering): R700 per night
- Self-Catering Groups: Stay at Buffelsfontein Lodge (Min. 6 people, Max. 12 people)
Catered Accommodation:
- Hunter (Catering Included): R1,500 per night
- Non-Hunter (Catering Included): R1,200 per night
- Child 13-18 (Catering Included): R800 per night
- Child under 13 (Catering Included): R400 per night
- Catering Groups: Stay at the other lodge (Min. 6 people, Max. 20 people)
- Catering includes: Breakfast, brunch/lunch, dinner, soft drinks, and water.
- Alcoholic drinks are NOT included.

- 50% Deposit on total accommodation payable upon confirmation of booking
- Minimum 4 nights stay and 4 hunters per booking (Min 16 bed-nights)
- Own vehicles may be used – Hunting vehicle charged at R1 000/day
- Minimum .243 calibre allowed for small to medium game
- Minimum .300 calibre allowed for large game
- Minimum .375 calibre allowed for dangerous game
- No hunting from vehicles unless rifles are equipped with silencers
- Catering includes : 3 Meals per day, soft drinks (in moderation) and bottled water
- Catering excludes : Alcoholic beverages
