Why list on NextHunt?
By listing your hunting opportunity on NextHunt, you expose yourself to tens of thousands more potential clients.
Our Facebook following is in excess of 150 000 hunters and we communicate to around 25 000 hunters on email every month during hunting season.
NextHunt is also the first port of call for many executives or secretaries looking to book their company’s corporate hunt.
How does it work?
Start by sending some basic information such as your price list, location, contact details, photos and availability. We will chat to you about finer details.
We then create a profile of your hunting opportunity on the website. You also get an admin backend user login, so you can change or update any information yourself. Once you are happy with your listing, we start marketing it to hunters.
Hunters will either submit a booking directly through the website, or will ask NextHunt to do bulk enquiries to a few farms that meet their criteria. You will be contacted to enquire about availability either through the website, email, WhatsApp or phone.
We usually request 50% of the total accommodation to secure a booking. Once the deposit has been received, we confirm the booking with you. A few days later, we send through payment along with a summary of the booking as well as the hunter’s contact details. After this, we step back and communications are between you and the hunter, unless a dispute arises for some reason, following which we will become involved.
What does it cost?
There is no cost to be listed on the website or feature on any of our platforms. If we do secure a booking with you, we retain 15% of the accommodation as our commission, unless a different remuneration structure has been agreed.
This 15% commission is retained from the 50% deposit received from the hunter, whereafter 35% is paid to you. The other 50% is paid directly by the hunter to you at checkout, or sooner if this is what you require.
How do I improve my listing’s marketability?
Over the years, we’ve identified a few important factors which contribute to making some listings very popular:
- Comprehensive pricelist – Nobody likes fine print or surprises at checkout. If you state all the rules and prices beforehand, there won’t be any debates afterwards.
- Sweet deals – everything doesn’t have to be cheap as long as everything isn’t expensive. Clients like knowing that they’re getting a good deal on one or two animals or on the accommodation.
- Frequent communication with the NextHunt team – because we have so many farms on the system, it helps to be front of mind when we recommend farms to hunters. It also builds rapport and trust and gives us the opportunity to update your availability.
- Proximity to major sentra – most hunters prefer to hunt within 3 hours of home. Most hunters in South Africa reside in Gauteng.
- Personal visit by a member of the NextHunt team (verification) – many hunters are sceptical of advertisements of hunting farms due to the number of scams going around. By visiting your farm, we can give better and more feedback to hunters, which helps establish a better expectation. When visiting your farm, we also take many photos and videos and launch a drone for some breathtaking views.
- Good and many photos – a picture is worth a thousand words and because of the information overload, many people make decisions on what they see as opposed to what they read. Unfortunately, many people do not make enough of an effort when taking photos.
- Positive reviews by other hunters – at some point during the hunt, ask your guests to write you (or us) a short review of their experience. The value of honest feedback from one hunter’s mouth to another hunter’s ears should not be underestimated.
- Track record – every year, hundreds of new entrants offer cheap hunts. Often this isn’t sustainable. Some of the farms have been listed on NextHunt since its inception in 2015, which gives credibility to the farm, which many hunters would otherwise never have heard of.
- Something different – identify your differentiator and let’s focus on that. Whether it’s a lookout point, nice lodge, meat processing facility or no cellphone signal. Embrace your difference and capitalize on it.
