Rocky Ridge is based in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and a mere 20 minutes north-west of Modimolle towards Vaalwater.

Rocky Ridge, located in the bushveld of South Africa, offers absolutely the best Bowhunting and Bushveld holiday break-away destination in South Africa.

All modern amenities are provided, hot and cold running water, showers, flushing toilets and a laundry service. Highly trained camp staff will attend to your every need be it culinary or otherwise. There is a lovely pool with deck, to cool down in during the warmer months.

Rocky Ridge is the Bushveld break-away, hunting, hiking, bird watching and relaxing destination you have been dreaming of, situated in the beautiful Waterberg region only one and a half hours drive from Gauteng.

There are more than 8 hides available, ranging from pit blinds to elevated hides. The hides are also very comfortable for the Bowhunter and even for the camera enthusiast.

Open vehicle game drives into the setting of the warm Bushveld sun are a must for any wildlife lover.

Birdwatchers can delight themselves in a vast number of species spotted on the farm.

Comfortable bird hides at waterholes are provided and the farm is nestled in a very diversified landscape of Bush, Mountain & Savannah a well-known corridor bush paradise, not to mention the hiking ventures and spontaneous bushveld relaxing atmosphere the facility & accommodation provides.

The owner Chris Kirstein gained hunting experience from an early age. Chris & Elize are the main driving force to make every visitor feel welcome and to ensure that every guest returns.

Chris is a highly skilled bowhunter and participated in establishing SABA (South African Bowhunting Association) two decades ago knows what each Bow Hunter strives for. Still a dedicated Hunter & Sport Shooting member of SAHGCA (South African Hunters & Game Conservation Association), Chris strives to ensure that each hunter/guest has the best experience.

Chris & Elize are assisted by their Farm Manager, (a qualified & experienced PH), with staff that are well skilled and who embraces the quest to ensure that guests obtain an unforgettable experience during the time with us.

We cater for family outings, corporate gatherings and functions, birthdays, weekend getaways, birdwatching hiking, mountain biking, hunting and much more.

We specialise in Bow Hunting only so unfortunately there are no guns allowed on hunts.

Any person sitting in a hide is seen as a hunter – PLEASE READ ALL RULES AND T&C’s
Hunter’s fee: From R550 per Hunter per night Includes accommodation for hunter.
Day Hunter’s fee: R1100 per hunter for day hunters. (Not sleeping over)

Hunting terms & conditions

1. Up to 8 hunters in the field at any time, negotiable.
2. Any person entering a hide is seen as a hunter and will be charged accordingly.
3. No hunting on departure day, clock out strictly 10:00 am
4. Minimum 4 Hunters for 2 hunting days and 2 night’s accommodation, Negotiable.
5. Only 3 arrows per hunter in hide is allowed.
6. No bow bags, bow cases or buds are allowed in the hides.
7. If hunters want to hunt alone, they must book the whole venue, excluding accommodation, see accommodation pricelist
8. Day Hunting visitors allowed, Hunters Fee is R1100 per Hunter for the day, payable upfront.
9. A trophy price will be asked if a Kudu Bull is wounded.
10. No airguns, guns or bows anywhere on farm if owner or staffs are not present. Guns must be in locked in the safe provided.
11. Hunting with Bow on foot (walk & stalk) with a guide is permitted upon request. No hunter is allowed to wonder in the field.
12. 3 Hours will be spent on looking for wounded animals, thereafter normal hunting resumes.
    Please make sure of shot placement.
13. Please read through and sign the hunting rules before hunting starts.
14. R 5000 penalty fee will be paid if not adhered to hide rules
15. NO DRONES OF ANY KIND ALLOWED.
16. NO PORTABLE SPEAKERS OR LOUD MUSIC ALLOWED

Hunting fee includes

1. Hunter’s Accommodation.
2. Shooting range with buds.
3. Vehicle is included for dropping off and picking up hunters as well as picking up carcasses of animals.
4. Game Feed at hides.
5. Cold room.
6. Slaughter facilities.
7. Tracker (maximum of 3 hours)
8. Skinning

Extra Charges

• First miss shot R50; thereafter full price for animal hunted
• Wounding of an animal full price.
• Slaughtering for a mount must be arranged with us before any work on animal P.O.R.
• Bow rental R800 p/day. Must be pre-arranged with owner. Matthews Drenalin 75 pound 28” draw length is available.
• Please note: Tips to staff is your choice, please remember the ladies who clean the accommodation.
• Cleaning service R 250 per day will be charged NOT OPTIONAL
